ATTENTION - ALL DOGS MUST BE DRESSED IN COSTUME!

We are very excited for our 7th Annual Canine Comedy Halloween pet costume party event benefiting The Mayor’s Alliance of NYC’s animals will be held on October 29th, 2007 from 7 –9 PM at Arena in New York City. In addition to the comedy performances we will have a Halloween pet costume contest and fabulous cocktails.. Comedians will perform a 5-10 minute comic tribute and judge a different category, skit or other appropriate material about pets, pet owners and all dogs will be dressed up for Halloween! Wendy and Lucky Diamond will be hosting with Judges confirmed include Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Richard Belzer, who is judging the most ILLEGAL Pet Costume; the pet costume that no dog should be allowed in the dog park wearing, Georgette Mosbacher, Extra TV’s AJ Calloway and USA Network’s Westminster Dave Frei!!

Our Halloween Pet Costume Party is a benefit to raise money for the Mayor’s Alliance of NYC’s animals (Mayor’s Alliance). The Mayor's Alliance is working with the City of New York toward the day when no New York City dog or cat of reasonable health and temperament is killed merely because he or she does not have a home. To achieve that goal, the Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, has formed a public-private partnership with the City of New York to develop creative solutions to deal with issues of animal care and control in New York City. We are bringing together all not-for-profit animal care groups, small and large, that are already working effectively to place and/or spay and neuter New York City's dogs and cats. Through our multi-year program, we will help these groups work to their highest potential.

In the past some of the nation’s best-known comics, including Susie Essman, Janeane Garofalo, Mario Cantone, Jeff Ross, Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch, Joy Behar, Kathy Griffin, Cheri Oteri, Sue Kolinski, Judy Gold, Lewis Black, and Godfrey lovingly lampooned pets and the people who pamper them. Celebrity attendance and press coverage from ABC, CNN, NBC, NY Post, Village Voice, E!, ET, NY1, Extra, and Oxygen have been high and this year promises even more.

Animal Fair, (fairness to animals) is the first lifestyle magazine for animal lovers in support of fairness to animals and the environment! Each issue of Animal Fair is dedicated to highlighting four non-profit animal organizations, giving them the opportunity to tell their inspirational stories and to provide contact information so that our readers can become involved. When we launched in 1999, 11 million animals were killed in shelters. This year, the number has decreased to 6 million! We don’t take all the credit but we are doing our part with the help of people and companies like you. Celebrities we have featured on our covers and inside the magazine include Renee Zellweger, Charlize Theron, Sarah Michele Gellar, Beyonce, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and the list goes on. They all know their support is crucial to the success of our efforts in promoting animal rescue and the importance of animals in our lives.
