Home made dog biscuits. Get your cookie cutters out...even the tiny bone ones make for great tiny treat cut-outs for training!

RECIPE:

1 cup oats
1 ½ cup boiling water
let sit until oats absorb water

add
1 egg
¼ cup oil or margarine (I use flax seed oil – margarine goes rancid faster)
½ cup wheat germ
½ cup dry powdered milk
1 cup cornmeal
2 ½ - 3 cups whole wheat flour
¼ cup flavoring:
IDEAS: peanut butter, sunflower seeds, molasses or carob chips (less than ½ cup of carob or molasses)

Roll out flat and thin. Cut into desired shape with cookie cutters.

Bake 1 hour at 300ºF.

Let cool before feeding.

Hide from the dog or they'll eat the whole batch!dogdancing

For oats, we use plain old Quaker oatmeal. smile We like the Quaker Quick oats, but any will do.

Yummmm.
