I just adopted a Russian Toy...his name is Beam. I was told that Beam... or possibly Bim.... is a popular Russian dog name. Does anyone know what it means or why it is a popular dog name in Russia...if this is true? Thanks!

Bim doesn't mean anything special. Initially it was a popular name in Russian circus where clowns were often called Bim and Bom.

It became a popular dog name after a great Russian movie of 1977 White Bim - Black Ear. The movie was nominated for Oscar (check Internet Movie Database for Belyy Bim - Chyornoe ukho). It's a very sad story with English Setter as Bim.
