Obviously, there are different policies, but decent insurance should cover that. Delivered to animal control and saw a boxer with the same exact markings as Darcy. Instantly reminded me of her. He had more of a boxer smush face though. Kind of funny how a dog can remind me of a dog I've never met. Oh, and I'm scheduled to go look inside the house after work today. Apparently the thunder and wind shook my car enough to trigger the alarm. But the really weird bit was that it would turn itself off and on. I was afraid to go out and check it, thinking some drugged up maniac was trying to break into my car in the middle of a storm. Hey, you never know! Sarah, I misread what you wrote about mama. Sanka The ground is my- newspaper.     Barked: Mon May 20, '13 8:00pm PST  Yes, that is pretty devastating seeing the images from OK. I've only seen F1 damages up close, and that was pretty crazy. Can't even imagine what 200 mph will do. The storms are heading this way. Packed with lightning. Still a way off, but I can see and hear them. Not supposed to have tornadoes in them though, thankfully. As for not having shelter, there are a lot of mobile homes and old farmsteads. Now the newly built homes that don't have shelters are just inexcusable. If you can't build a basement, there needs to be some place better than a closet and a bathroom. Many of the plants I deliver to have small shelters specifically built to stand up to tornadoes. I wish they'd have some sort of building codes for tornadoes like they do in Cali for earthquakes. When I was little, we didn't have a basement. I remember huddling in the bath tub. Now that was an unsettling feeling. Hoping your bathroom saves your life. Big storms are my biggest worry with moving into the old farmhouse. It technically has a basement, but it's not something I'd feel safe in. And you have to go outside to access it. My uncle lives just down the road and has a basement, so I will more than likely head over there if I get a good enough warning. I still say earthquakes are the scariest. You can't hide or have a chance of it missing you. Everything beneath you is shaking! Sanka The ground is my- newspaper.     Barked: Sun May 19, '13 5:18pm PST  I know a guy who has 2 full blooded, hunting line black mouth curs. From his explanation, curs are really full bore when it comes to hunting. They will take off after whatever it is and will stick on it. The one cur will obsess over the squirrels and never forgets about it. She'll stay on it for hours. The other one started jumping the fence at the dog park, and even a full fledged shock from her electric collar was not enough to get her to back off of the squirrels. These are pretty extreme dogs. Nice dogs. It's just when instinct kicks in, they get right to business. You having a mix is really hard to put all of that into account. Especially from 2 different "hunting" breeds. Curs, meant to go after the prey, and labs, meant to retrieve the prey. Although, there are some curs that are bred for herding. But since you stated the dog was from Louisiana, I'd put my money on hunting. It's a tough call on mixes. And it's especially tough if you have really flighty cats. It'd been pretty stable at $3.77 but when I was absolutely out of gas and needed to fill up it just happened to jump to $4.25! It's been at $3.99 for a few days now. Only put in $30 because over 4 bucks is just insane. Is it just me or do those humming birds look large? We've got ticks larger than most humming birds here. I wish the storms would move in, but they're not supposed to come until tomorrow. Chance of severe. They're a bit late. I don't think we've had any legit storms all May. Did see a cool dirt devil today. They normally spurt out after a few seconds, but this sucker kept on going until it was completely out of sight. Really cool. Dunlop, I thought you were going to say the cops busted him for speeding. Personally, I'd love an excuse to have a free smoothie, even if that meant eating it off myself. Dog day afternoon was a big let down. Absolutely no rescues were there so there were no puppies or cute adoptable dogs to mess with. Did get some great free samples though. One vendor lady was pissed that people were taking her treats like they were free samples. But she had just regular dog biscuits in tiny bags laid out like they were samples. She didn't have any price tags out or anything. Lady, if everyone else is giving free samples, you might want to reconsider your design. Plus, she wanted 2 bucks for the tiny bags. She was better off giving them out to promote herself than trying to cash in for profit. I didn't buy anything. There wasn't really anything to buy. It was just...boring this year. Kato didn't have any fun either. I had to literally drag him around. Sanka The ground is my- newspaper.     Barked: Sat May 18, '13 8:24pm PST  Puppies! Hoping to get a big puppy fix tomorrow. It's "Dog Day Afternoon" tomorrow at the park. Pretty much every dog related vendor and then some will be out there. Only problem is, I spent all my cash today at the garage sales. Looks like I'll have to pay a visit to Mr. ATM tomorrow. Bought a clock for 50 cents, a nice set of dishes/bowls/cups for $9, and the big one was a glass top table and 4 chairs for $70. Told myself $60 was my top dollar, but you can barely get a chair for that much, let alone a whole set. Still needs some pads for the seats, but that's not big thing. Sweet swag Nicky! I hope it made him happier since those pesky squirrels were around. Don't have any squirrels at the house currently, but the ones at the dog park seem to enjoy taunting the dogs. They'll come most of the way down the trunk and seemingly curse the dogs out. Hey Turner! Glad you enjoyed your vacay! I've always thought about getting a possible memorial-type tattoo, but I just have a hard time trusting somebody to permanently mark my body. You never know if they'll fit. I totally wasn't a "prom girl." I kind of regret not going in high school, but I hated every bit of the junior high ones that I was just negative about it all. And I don't like dresses. I do love a few days of dressing up. Makes you feel really good about yourself.
