Yep, I have defiantly run across that attitude. OK, so I give Princesse rides in my bike basket. That makes her a fashion accessory? I bike her to the park to walk her. How is that any different than driving a big dog to a place where they go for a walk? She is way better behaved than some big dogs I have come across. I love all dogs, be they tiny, small, medium or largecloud 9 Some of the owners are a way different storysilenced

wave Gunner, Bunny`s sister heresmile

Since I am posting as Princesse, I think you can guess what breed I misjudgedwink Yep, I too thought Chis were yappy, snappy little ankle biterseek Wow, was I wrong! Yes, Princesse can be an alarm barker in the house and is very picky about who she likes and may air snap if she feels threatened by strangers who approach her, but other than that, she is one awesome dogbig grin As a matter of fact, the other day we were walking and someone commented about her single mindedness while walking ( kind of putting words in her mouth but it was true) `Don`t bother me, I am busy walking``laugh out loud I can bring her anywhere and she never even says `Arf``. She can be trusted off leash ( in safe areas), she doesn't bark, lunge or pull on the leash, she is good with other animals ( birds, cats , rabbits) , and has zero prey drive. In short, a breath of fresh air compared to what I have lived through with Bunny all these yearswink

ETA I am also one of those people who said `I will *never * have one of thosebig laugh

I didn't realize how young she wassmile Other people might have better advice but I would try alternating walking her with others with walking by herself. Use treats ( if she is food motivated) when she is by herself. Do you clicker train? Even if you don``t I would think the `find it`game might work. Try throwing treats in front of her so that she has to move forward to find themsmile

I agree if they are used properly for an appropriate sized dog, maybe they are OK. Personally, I don`t have one I don`t want one. I am quite happy with Princesse`s long leash tied to her short one. I roll it up and hold the handle of the short one on sidewalks and let it out and hold the handle of the long one in appropriate settings, like the yard, parks, and the walking trails.
