Spuds handled raw fine while on Doxy. He did need a 2nd round since I gave yogurt to help his belly, but that make the Doxy go thru the system too quick to help. The 2nd round he did fine with a little treat with the meds and food as normal.

I'm in South NJ and we stay on it year round, not worth the risk to me. Some winters are just not cold enough here.

laugh out loudlaugh out loud Sharp knives and freezer containers. I slice up the muscle meat as I buy it, and when I make up the daily packets, I just add the daily amounts of everything else to each baggie.

Maybe it's 2 yrs of feeding raw?

Don't know why, but it baffles my DIL too.....

It only takes me an hour to do a months worth of food for Spuds. I slice up the meats as I buy them on sale and toss in the freezer. Then when I am making the meals, split up the bones & organs and mix with sliced meats.

We make my Son's dog's food 2 months at a time, it takes 2 of us under 2 hours to makes up her packs. If my DIL did it by herself, she spent hours doing it.

It's easiest to divide before freezing and then put it all together I have found. It took a while to find my rhythm, but I just learned not to over think it and just do it.

I'm in Mount Laurel.....

We are near water, and that adds to the wildlife. Which is why it was 1st advised to give many years ago.

Lyme is relativity newer.

Spuds gets the Lepto shot each April. I have it done since we walk in woods everyday and cross paths of wildlife. So it really depends on your area. A dog in my development did catch it, but thankfully recovered.

Spuds has had Lyme, so the Vets and I have had in depth discussions on it. They don't push for the vaccine, since it doesn't prove your dog will not get it. Keep in mind only 10% of dogs that positive for it come down with the actual disease. The best thing is year round prevention and to learn signs of the disease.

Being in NJ, we have been having more mild winters, we now use it year round and every other year I have his blood tested for the levels active (C6 test). Thankfully he has only showed symptoms once and a month of Doxy took care of it.

On a snap test he will now always show as exposed.

Is it just bile or is it actual food?

If bile, try a little snack short;y before walking.

If food, try delaying the walk a little more....
