Meeko our little- boston- TERROR!!!!!     Barked: Tue Jul 20, '10 5:40pm PST  meeko suddently developed EXTREMELY dry skin. it started to peel like ones skin does after a sunburn. anyways i started to add dr maggie's skin & coat formula...it took about 6 wks but his skin is back to normal...maybe even better!! he always had areas on his body where his hair was thin but that has filled in too!! my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]

Meeko our little- boston- TERROR!!!!!     Barked: Sun Jun 27, '10 7:37pm PST  wow thanks for all the info everypup!!! i hope i remember to answer everyones q's. meeko has been on a homecooked diet for about a yr. we just had recent blood work which did not indicate any concerns. our vet did not do a skin scraping yet but suggested we start with the oils & vitamins. all our boys since being on a homecooked diet have lost weight depite the extra amount of food i kept adding. sassy i took your suggestion & started adding fats & more protein. since they all have gained some weight. meeko is at a good weight now but hudson & nate could stand a bit more. since our vet visit i have added the multi vitamin in place of nupro & the ground egg shells. i have added dr maggie's skin & coat formula in place of the omega-3 salmon & fish oil & vit e tabs. i am not bathing meeko as often either. i prefer bathing meeko every few weeks as he can get stinky pretty quick but obviously his skin could not handle it. the shampoo i used for meeko was natural & organics oats for coats along with a apple conditioner from the same company. since our vets appt i have switched meeko to a shampoo/conditioner that our vet had given us for hudson's allergies...aveno sativa. my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]

Meeko our little- boston- TERROR!!!!!     Barked: Sun Jun 6, '10 7:39pm PST  i'm challenged when it comes to nutrional data so please bare with me. nate & meeko's meals consist of...chicken, beans & lentil mix, rice or barley, veggie mix (sweet potato, broccoli, spinach, carrots, zucchini...), blueberries & cranberries. they get nupro as a supplement, omega 3 fish oil tabs, vit e tab, ground egg shells & a pinch of termuric. they also get home baked cookies made with potato flour (due to hudson's alleregies we're limited), ground pork & blueberries. meeko has had dry skin from time to time but in the last few months it's become terrible. all his blood work came back normal...he is not lacking anything according to his blood work but his skin is actually peeling off??? my posts | my page | msg me | my family's posts | gift me | become pals [notify]
