 | | Barked: Sat Jan 15, '11 5:05pm PST |  | |  | | I have one too, diagnosed yesterday. Blood came out of one of mine. I was given a shot and now I'm on an antibiotic and steroids. I've been miserable, always licking and kind of chasing my tail. Since going to the vet, I already feel better "down there". I have to go back Thursday to be checked again and then checked every week or so for a while. The vet told Mom if it doesn't get better, he'll have to inject medicine into the gland daily or every other day or teach mom to do it. She said, "No, I'll bring Katy to you." I hope it doesn't come to that.
Anyway, more trips to the vet will be needed for me even after it clears up so it doesn't happen again. He thinks my glands may need to be expressed a least once a month. We'll see.
My bio-mom, Lady, has too many red blood cells in her urine and is being treated for a bladder infection, so Mom is a bit worried about us right now.
I hope you get better really soon, Ruby, and I'm sorry you have cancer. Lady had cancer 4 1/2 years ago and the surgery helped her! |  |  | |  |

I used the peroxide, baking soda, and dish washing detergent followed by dog shampoo. It worked well, but I didn't think about the peroxide lightening the black on her. There are dark red tints here and there. It's okay though; she's not vain.   | | | | |
