Typical Husky behavior...we've all gone thru it...the good news is that it does pass with training and consistancy. First of all...start yelling *OUCH* when this happens; only because when this happens with other people...their first instanct will be to say ouch and jerk away...so teach your dog the word 'ouch' when it comes to biting and nipping. Next, as soon as the puppy has nipped and you've yelled 'ouch' (even if it didn't hurt ~ say it)...then take your thumb and stich in the puppy's mouth sideways so that your thumb is just BEHIND the canines and wrap your pointy finger up over the snout so that it touches your thumb that is sticking out the other side (kinda like th 'OK' hand gesture). This will not hurt you or the puppy...there is enough of a gap behind the canines to do this. Try your best to put a little pressure on the roof of the mouth with your thumb...and hang on for dear life. Puppy will try EVERYTHING to get out of this...and does not like this at all! Try to hold this position until the puppy gives up and calms down a bit. It will then associate having any part a human in their mouth is NOT a pleasurable experience.

That's odd that you can't find the lighter ones...I just know going to the dog park in our area...most red/whites are light like you...it's rare for me to find the darker ones like me...MOF...in my 9 years...we've only found ONE other red/white that is as dark as me.

I was picked out of a crowd by the Furminator sales person to do a demo on at a local charity event. I was in the middle of one of my bi-yearly *blows*...and it didn't hardly do squat on my coat. Mistress will stick with her undercoat rake TYVM...and they start out at around $7 & works like a charm...compared to the Furminator that starts at around $30 & does 1/4 of the work.

I get Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul kibble, with one raw egg added in weekly...except on Sundays...Mistress cooks us a Sunday dinner...usually boiled chicken, rice, carrots, potatoes, & apples. My snack drawer contains Bully Stix, Beef & Liver Rollos, Woofy Pop, and Texas Taffy at the moment.

I've gotten the Wolf thing and *Snow Dog* thing more time than I can count. But 3 weeks ago took the cake. I was walking Mistress around the neighborhood when a guy in an SUV stopped us to *imform* Mistress that I was a Wolf and that it was illegal to have a Wolf within the city limits (a GROWN man!) Mistress calmly informed the man that I was a Siberian Husky...to which he yelled at Mistress "THAT'S A WOLF IF EVER I SAW ONE!!!" Mistress just chuckled and say "well Sir, then you've never seen a Wolf before". Can you BELIEVE a few blocks more into our walk...Animal Control pulls up for a complaint of some woman walking a Wolf...ummm HOWLO she is NOT walking me...I'm walking her! Animal Control could see right off the bat that I was indeed NOT a Wolf...and busted up laughing that I was mistaken for one. Last we heard...Animal Control was off to the resident of the complaintant to *educate* him of my fine and DOMESTIC DOG breeding.
