I feel for you. I live on the edge of an industrial area in a not fantastic neighborhood. For the first six months or so of her life Shadow had to contend daily with the nasty Golden that lived next door and was forever loose. Yup a mean Golden, shocked me to. It attacked anyone it came across and sent two small dogs to the e vet with serious injuries, yet repeated pleas to AC yielded nothing.
In and around this time was the yard dog down the hill, an old Rottie that is responsible for at least one neighborhood pups demise. He got hold of young Shadow one day, forcing me to connect boot to head. I finally got him to drop my little girl, tossed her into someone's truck box and unleashed all of a protective Mama's fury on the still hellbent attacker. The dog is still around, still runs loose(I watched it grab someone's dog on Saturday), and AC still does nothing.
Then we got the attitudal BC cross to replace the dummies with the Golden. She was a treasure. Bit me twice getting into my car, attacked Shadow and made a short lived attempt at Sabs. She actually attempted a few times to jump into my yard. AC? Yup, nothing.
Their excuse in all of this? We need to catch them at large OR we need proof that that dog attacked you or your dog sufficiently badly to cause provable injury. Are you kidding me?
I finally got them to come out for the BC by offering to catch her for them, with the bumper of my car, if she ever came near me or my dogs again. They gave the owners a warning, and a fine for no license.

Sabs been on Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM since age 3. I use the human brand since the dog stuff is the same thing at twice the price.

I don't think Dane at all, there are any number of breeds that can produce that coloring. Cute either way.

First of all you have only had her a short time and this breed is by nature aloof with strangers, they bond closely to their people and are notorious for being difficult to get through to in new homes. As far as the spraying incident, try hotdogs or cheese and rather then invading her space just toss her a little piece when you walk by and keep walking. My guess would be that you will soon have a shadow. Let her come to you in her own time.
Walking her, Try an easywalk, or similar harness, and start in the yard. Again you can use food to lure her into position beside you. If she listens when she wants, she isn't trained. Start from scratch and assume she knows nothing. Avoid training styles that force, this is an intelligent breed and you either work with that or it works against you. Give her lots of praise, lots of love and respect her need to get to know you.

I can probably get him as far as Sask as long as we can do it on the weekend. Jewel can you help? I think we have a dogster in Winnipeg, but I don't remember who.

Aside from her other issues, Sabs has developed arthritis in her neck and shoulder. In fact 2 years ago it flared up so bad I thought we were done. Since then I have her on Medicam, as needed. The clinic keeps a prescription opened for her and I give her a few days worth here and there as I find she needs it. Realistically it depends on the severity, but I liked the option of using it only as needed.
Also remember so provide a soft, warm sleeping area and exercise. There is ample proof that movement alleviates arthritis pain.

I agree with Kolbe. Unless you could stumble on a reputable Cavalier breeder who had an oops litter, and that's unlikely, I would go far, far away from that cross. They are a breed plagued by severe and devastating health issues. Crossing them with another breed does not magically erase those genetic codes and since even apparently healthy dogs can be genetic carriers, unless the breeder can provide proof of testing there is no guarantee.
As others mentioned, contact a local rescue and tell them what you want.
