I have the knee and ankle brace for myself and love them. I got the mesh blanket for my dog and he has had issues with a sore right shoulder from jumping and it has really helped that.

Ember-They really don't create heat what they do is increase circulation. The mesh blankets aren't too hot unless you are outside. Shadow's never had a problem getting over heated but I don't use it when we are at outside trials unless it is around 60 or so.

From what I've heard and was told in school(I'm in school to be a vet tech) elevated feeders actually increase the risk of bloat. Unless you have a dog with reflux issues like the previous poster I wouldn't use them.

There is no ivermectin in Sentinel. However I have heard of several cases where dogs developed neurological problems after taking Sentinel or Interceptor. It is rare but it does happen.

I would see if there are any canine rehab special-ists in her area. We have one in my area and she does a great job with neurological issues even when the vets give no hope of any recovery. It could at least help with mobility and may be able to counteract some of the effects that she has.

I trained him with 2x2s. He is not dependent on me during practice. I can run different ways, rear cross, front cross before he exits, and be ahead or behind him with no issues.

Thanks Aslan. I plan on getting a camcorder as soon as I can to start recording practices and trials to see what the differences are.

If you use a brace for a CCL(ACL in humans) tear it has to be on 24/7. The only thing it does is keep the joint stabilized so the 2 bones(femur and tibia) do not slide against one another. I really believe surgery is the way to go with CCL tears unless the dog is older and is not a good candidate for surgery.

I use Advantage for fleas but only use it when it gets warm and I start hearing of fleas becoming a problem. As for heartworm meds I use Heartgard Plus all year round. I've seen too many dogs come into friends rescues that are heartworm positive and have seen the dogs go through treatment and it is a rough process.

Shadow did complete right sided weaves 2 times yesterday but I had to move my hand back and forth which I usually don't have to do. Some people said I run him differently at trials than in practice and that probably has something to do it. He is also jumping and biting more than in practice. I think it's just going to take us some time to get into the swing of things at trials.

Bailey- I give him a couple tries and if he doesn't do it we move on to the rest of the course and then have a big party at the end of the course. If he does his weaves I get really happy and tell him what a good boy he is after he finishes his weaves and then move on.

Bosley- I'm thinking that's whats happening. I think the last trial I really shot his confidence down by trying the weaves over and over and him not getting it during that trial somewhat shut down his confidence in them in trials.

I have a dog that is still fairly new to trialing. We just got into level 3 in CPE and he was doing weaves perfectly fine until a trial a couple of weekends ago. We trained after that and he did his weaves perfectly during practice. Now we're at another trial and he is refusing the weaves again. He either hits the entrance and then pops out at the 2nd pole or runs right by them. He did them perfectly and from distance just a couple of days ago and now I can't even send him into them.

Weaves are now a part of most courses that we are running minus Jackpot and Fullhouse. Some are saying they think he is stressed but he is running great for the other parts of the course so I'm not sure if that is it. Does anyone have any experience dealing with a dog that did this and if so how did you handle it? Did you go back and retrain or did you continue trialing until they just eventually got used to it.

If you haven't tried Advantage try that. I had a dog with flea allergies and they were horrible on Frontline. As soon as I changed to Advantage it all went away and no more hot spots or irritated skin. Youshould also treat the house in case they are in the house.

Benadryl may help also. It could also be an environmental allergy but it sounds more like a flea allergy. You can do Collodial Oatmeal baths(I like the Aveeno brand the best), just the oatmeal not shampoo you can find it in the human bath isle. Just follow the directions on the box.

Maybe try an X-Pen and get him used to it slowly. Feed him his meals in there and make it a really happy place. If you are home with him he can be out as long as he is closely monitored. From what I've heard rehab is pretty straightforward and goes pretty smoothly with the TPLO surgeries
