| Barked: Sun Jun 16, '13 8:41am PST | | | | | Here's a jindo rescue if your really interested in jindo breeder maybe the rescue would know of good jindo breeder.
https://www.facebook.com/TwoDogFarms
This website has some good info
http://www.jindos.com/jindo/intro/jindo_intro.html
If your going to get a jindo get one from a good breeder who breeds for temperament and health or from a rescue.
If rescues are too far I'm sure they can arrange travel for the dog? or visit the rescue I know many people who do the same with good breeders due to hard to come by good breeders of such and such breed they have to fly out or drive across state..
I went over one state. my next dog will be accross two states..
Have you ever met a jindo in person before? Many people love shiba inu, but a lot get one without meeting the breed and some it works out and keep the shiba till it dies and some re home due to not what they expected.
Shiba inu need a lot of socialization and I'm sure jindo are same way as they need a lot of socialization.
I've never met jindo before so can't really help on temperament.
One thing getting from a rescue an adult rescue temperament is known and if the dog is in foster care they'd be able to know more on it's behavior in home environment.
Shiba inu and well most dogs I know don't do well in shelters due to lack of exercise, and not same as a home..
Saya hates being boarded even though she gets walks it's not the same as she doesn't get same mental stimulation and stuff.
Good luck on search. | | | | |

| Barked: Thu Jun 13, '13 3:19pm PST | | | | | I use elk velvet antler supplement for Saya's joints
This brand I use, but there is other brands out there.
http://www.natraflex.com/superflex.html
I also use green lipped mussel supplement I alternate one day she gets elk antler tablet next she gets green lipped mussel supplement.
She also gets fish oil every other day and coconut every other day.
Someone on here said coconut oil is good for joints I'm not sure. Saya enjoys the coconut oil when she gets it though.
I give chicken feet too..
Saya has a spinal issue not HD, but still I supplement joint stuff to help prevent stuff.
Not sure if GLM and elk stuff work, but Saya does well and has energy to spare. Coarse she hasn't shown much decline yet. before on kibble she couldn't jump on my bed or couch easily and raw really helped it..
Sorry this happened hope the supplements and stuff helps it not be so bad.

Raw Food Diet > Edibal bones. Whole cuts. Old dogs. Bad teeth. Safety tips.

I want to play! |
| Barked: Mon Jun 10, '13 2:54pm PST | | | | | Dink our old dog got chicken quarters, chicken feet and turkey necks at age of 14 as once week treat.. She is a catahoula mix she also had bad teeth.
About when she was close to age 16 she couldn't eat whole bone due to her teeth. I did give her tiny bit of ground meat and liver, kidney once week with her kibble since ground meat and organs was easier for her she only got tiny of organs..
If teeth are really bad feeding grinds for those dogs is possible some grinders can grind certain chicken parts.. I dunno which is best to get.
Chicken necks, breast, and backs are pretty soft. Coarse if dog is big don't give chicken neck as the dog might swallow it whole.

Raw Food Diet > questions about feeding rabbits?
Saya
I want to play! |
| Barked: Fri Jun 7, '13 5:52pm PST | | | | | Saya has had small rabbits first time eating one she refused to eat it's stomach and intestines, but second one she ate whole thing.
She eats the fur no problem.. Coyotes eat fur too..
If you want you can gut it just take stomach and intestines out and keep heart, liver, lungs and stuff in it or if big rabbit cut it into meal size portions or something.
Saya ate the head no problem too.

| Barked: Fri Jun 7, '13 5:46pm PST | | | | | That's probably why you have loose poop. Bone is needed to keep poop firm.
I never owned a English bulldog so I don't know how they do eating wise..
there is one or two raw English bulldog owners here so maybe they can help with things.
grinder is good if need to make home ground food..
eggs shells might help with firming plus getting some calcium, but maybe hold off on eggs itself till poop is firmed up.
Caned or cooked pumpkin might help firm poop up too.
Bella our boxer eats chicken quarters fine, but her snout isn't smooshed so I dunno..

I want to play! |
| Barked: Fri May 31, '13 2:07pm PST | | | | | Even raw they make wonderful chewy meal. haha I gotten beef cheeks before for Saya and very chewy compared to beef roast..
Most they have is 10pieces for 4inch and 5pieces for the 8inch..
I plan to eventually get a dehydrator so I might try dehydrate the beef cheek to see how it does as a special treat.. I'll write what I find when I do it, but won't be for while. Still researching on brand I want.

Raw Food Diet > Bones
Saya
I want to play! |
| Barked: Fri May 31, '13 2:01pm PST | | | | | Saya is 20lbs and she gets cornish hens, all kinds of bone in chicken parts, pork ribs, pork shoulder roast she mainly eats the jointed part of that bone, lamb ribs, lamb shank, lamb leg roast with the shank and leg roast she grinds the jointed part of it.
I used to give pork feet when new to raw, but haven't gotten any yet.
I give beef ribs as once in while treat she mainly tears the meat off and gets tiny amount of bone off of it. I toss it once the meat is all gone.
I kinda rotate what I give sometimes she gets bone in chicken two times a week or bone in chicken then bone in pork or whatever.
I've fed bone in dove breast before tiny and makes yummy small meal or snack, bone in duck roast too, but I don't get it often.
I feed whole saury it has bone in it so that does count some. I try give fish two times a month or three times it depends.
Saya also gets chicken feet she loves those. I used to have turkey feet, but ran out so need to get some soon.

Raw Food Diet > Question for partial-raw feeders.
Saya
I want to play! |
| Barked: Fri May 31, '13 1:55pm PST | | | | | I don't feed Bella raw all the time depends if I got enough in the freeze sometimes I get low so I feed every so often to stretch it till I get more bone in chicken, pork and stuff..
For Bella she is mainly kibble fed she's my parent's dog plus bigger I'd need my own freezer to comfortably feed her full time on raw.
She gets kibble in am and in pm for raw days she gets either bone in chicken, pork rib, or once in while ground hog as bone in meal.
I'd give her bit of boneless or organs with the bone in meal.
If I got plenty of raw stuff I'd give her boneless stuff for dinner the next day she handles it fine, but I just started doing that recently so far no stomach issues.
If it's been a while I'd probably start out with chicken and then add some boneless pork or beef and add variety from there.
Bella seems fine and luckily she is such a food dog she doesn't turn down her kibble or raw meals.
I also give her raw fish like smelt, pieces of mackerel, and pieces of pacific saury with raw meals sometimes or kibble for variety.

Raw Food Diet > What is your staple meat?
Saya
I want to play! |
| Barked: Wed May 29, '13 9:38pm PST | | | | | Saya's red meat staple is pork, lamb, beef, and goat.
White meat, fish, chicken, rabbit, turkey.
I sometimes get bison, deer, duck, goose, dove once in blue moon..
I used to feed whole quail, but ran out long time ago I plan to make a huge order soon.
I feed ground beef or turkey as snack or small meal. Good for mixing supplements into it.
ground meat isn't main staple.
This week beef roast is on sale for decent price so I'll get a few to portion out.
Meat processor sells beef scraps I plan to try once there is room in freezer.
pork comes on sale much more then beef roasts so when beef roasts on sale I try stock up pretty good.
