here's my favorite recipe

Buy 1 whole turkey
Let it thaw
have Hubby chop it up
I help to bag it
Store in freezer until needed.
Thaw and serve.

Raw Food Diet > How do your dogs feel about eating kibble?

My dog steals the cats food all the time. I'm sure Crash would eat the heck of out kibble but it would also give him some serious runs since he's sensitive to grains. I'd have to try out a few different grain free blends before I attempted to go on vacation and feed kibble.

We have gone on vacation, 10 days in Hawaii and our dog sitter just fed RAW. We prepacked enough for the entire trip, plus treats and it was easy peasy

I don't have a tick problem here but we do have horse flies and mosquitoes. I've been using an essential oil from DoTerra called Terra Shield. You can add 20-30 drops to water in a 4oz mister and spritz your pup with it as needed. I do 2 applications if we are out all day, one before we go and one mid-day.
This also works great for the human friends.

We started out feeding Crash 2 times a day, he was 4 months when we started RAW.
At about 8 months or so, we moved to 1 meal a day. After he was a year old we would occasionally do a FAST / GORGE.

I can't really say whats going to be best for your dog. Each dog is different. Sure, we had some mishaps, puking, runs, constipation, etc. but it's been almost 5 years and we would never feed kibble. It's been worth it.

there's no reason for any animal to consume milk after they are weaned.

I hardly ever just feed my dog a BONE, but he eats whole turkey, whole chicken, beef ribs, bone in pork, whole fish, etc.

to be honest, I have fed live prey to our cat. They hunt outside so what's the difference?

I started our kittens on RAW when they were about 10 weeks old. We just gave them a plate of wings and they went at it. Luckily I never had to encourage them to eat any RAW. They loved it. However, the suggestions for picky eaters was good. smile

Cats can eat anything a dog does, you might just need to make the pieces smaller. Chunks of beef, pork, chicken, rabbit, buffalo, etc. As far as WHOLE PREY goes mice, rats, etc are your best bet but just like dogs, "Franken-Prey" is going to be the easiest way to ensure your pets gets the most variety and proper nutrition.
