Correct Chaplin~ Borzoi aren't physically mature until about 3-4 and not mentally mature until 2. He's also a show dog, so I think my timing for this situation and this breed is just perfect!

My boys go to movies regularly with me and are fine. But I am always listening to my music quite loudly so they are used to it lol

I don't think you have to worry too much about the subway... but I wouldn't do say a rock concert or something LOL.

A known fear of anything is not good for any service dog. Your dog should be comfortable in most situations and if you know she has a fear or water you need to work on that so that shes comfortable around it. You never know when you'll be in a situation around bodies of water and your SD will shut down when you need them

that's about 3 or so inches of murky water that conceals the track that the cars run on LOL!

Thanks Chaplin! It got a little stale in the middle I must admit but since our trip to the nationals he's changed so much and took everything he was exposed to SO well, he's become a MASTER at going under tables, even moreso than Voltaire and he's learning alerts from Voltaire.

Exactly. It fully depends on the dog and the situation.

"Because it doesn't" - hear me out.

It doesn't -always- work for -every- dog. There are a variety of methods that work VERY well for different dogs. Positive only isn't, contrary to popular belief, the end all-be all. wink

Charged you onl$20 but did he take the wool too? wink big laugh

IF your dogs were anything other than poodles, Bichons, PWDs or similar breeds it did them much more harm to be shaved than to keep their insulating undercoat and heat shielding topcoat. Double coated breeds (which are most breeds even including some "short"coated breeds) are not to be shaved. But with PWDs like the OP's dog and Poodles etc. It's ok because their coat is different.
