American Staffordshire Terrier > help with renting
Sienna, NPC,- CGC
 Adopt a homeless- dog
 |
| Barked: Wed Jun 1, '11 12:42pm PST | | | | | We have to move and do not have the money to buy a place yet (hopefully soon). So we must rent for at least a year. We need some tips on getting people to rent to us because Sienna is part staffie. We have had her DNA tested and she's only 25% staffordshire but looks like a small pit bull. She's got her CGC and she's 11 years old. I mean, hardley a threat. I can get character references for her. But for a lot of people it's the insurance companies. I need ideas for how to get around this and get a place that she'll be allowed! She's the sweetest dog! | | | | |

 Adopt a homeless- dog

Mom likes to dress me in pink which softens my image a bit. When I was younger people thought I was meaner because I pulled on my leash. When I learned to listen well people never assume I'm a bad dog. | | | | |

 Adopt a homeless- dog

| Barked: Thu Jan 13, '11 2:45pm PST | | | | | saw this on a blog and I am passing it along.
"This morning, as a buddy of mine drove to work via the Williamsburg Bridge, he noticed something: a small gray dog chained to the pedestrian walkway, shivering, completely drenched and half-frozen. As you probably heard, New York had a very big snow storm last night; we’re almost certain her owners left her out in it overnight to die."

Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > When is the time right for a new dog after losing one?
Mr. Zuki- DePoops- (RIP)
Until there are- none, adopt one!

| Barked: Fri Oct 15, '10 12:55pm PST | | | | | I agree, the time is different for everyone. I think going to visit a shelter just to look will tell you how you feel. For me, the first visit was too soon but then I felt soon after that I could do it. We also had to consider our other dog who was depressed. For my parents who just lost a cat, they wanted to replace their cat with the same color, etc but when visited the shelter they realized they needed a bit more time. I think it's ok to not be sure and test yourself out. | | | | |

Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > Will Anniversaries Always Be Hard?
Mr. Zuki- DePoops- (RIP)
Until there are- none, adopt one!

| Barked: Fri Oct 15, '10 12:49pm PST | | | | | I can speak from my experience of losing my aunt to a horrible tragedy over 15 years ago. The anniversaries were hard for us, and still are. But I think over time we used it as a way to remember her and how wonderful she was rather than the accident.
So sorry for your loss. I was sad on Mondays because that is the day Zuki passed until my dear niece was born on a Monday. Everyday positive and negative things happen.

Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > A little regret

| Barked: Fri Oct 15, '10 12:44pm PST | | | | | The wonderful thing about dogs is that their eyes are not their strongest sense. Their smell and sense of who is around them is more powerful for them. The smell of you was powerful and comforting.
In time the image of the last time you held him will be replaced by the more pleasant times you had together. Show yourself some pictures and reminisce about those times. Those are the powerful ones that are to remember.
