A groomer in my area has a nice website up but all of her pictures are of shave downs, shaved Labs, Goldens, a Newfie... it's like REALLY? Are you honestly proud of that? |  |  |  |  |

| Barked: Sun Apr 3, '11 7:34pm PST |  |  |  |  | Sometimes using things from the dogs point of view works... telling owners that matts hurt and feel like hair constantly being pulled. If you tell an owner their dog is in constant pain they sometimes wake up.
Explain how bathing a matted dog is like bathing them in a too tight wool sweater, it's itchy, uncomfortable and can lead to skin infections.
If you really want to scare them tell them you aren't sure you can do it, she needs to go to a vet and be put to sleep to have the mats clipped off. (of course you can do it, but ti's a scare tactic) |  |  |  |  |
