OMG. I DIE. He is too cute! I'll send a link of that to the lady and see what she says, hang tight!

Really though he looks just fine imo. Could be like you said the fur is light and the skin dark so its really obvious...

Arkane, if you can post pics I can ask the lady that runs our white GSD rescue what she thinks...

Squ'mey, I was looking at the pictures and you'll have to judge for yourself, but I didn't see anything abnormal....

Um... not sure if this forum is the right place to post this?

But anyways, I don't see anything abnormal. Miyu has the same, as does almost every other white shepherd that comes through our rescue. Can you clarify what is worrying you? Is it because it looks like you can see skin through the fur?

I'm glad you have your Mulder back. It was smart to recognize your frustration and good for you for being willing to take the steps to resolve it. It's clearly helping things, so good for you two! (three, since Ridley's working things out!)

Since it also hasn't been suggested- a GSD? I have cats, and my foster is great with both kitties and kids. Very athletic, great all rounder dogs. Especially if you're committed to training and structure.

Also going to echo what Mulder said. I came here myself searching for the right dog, and asked if a GSD would fit me. Look for an adult rescue, preferably one that is foster based. There's so much variation they'd for sure be able to find the right dog for your needs.

Hopefully Mulder will chime in, but I don't see why the right dog couldn't do both PPD and SAR. In effect that's what some of the police K-9s do. I would say start with a good GSD. Others can do it as well, but a great GSD is a lot more stable than say, a Mal. Plus a bit easier, too. Malinois are another great all rounder breed, but WHOA NELLY. That's a lotta dog.

Very powerful, Tiller. And very TIMELY. You have the knack for going deeper, past the knee-jerk reactions, to the core of the problem. Always very insightful and thought provoking, I really appreciate that.

It is the cultural mentality that is very hard to get over. I come from a place where animals certainly aren't cared for in the way that they are here, and certain things just aren't the norm the way they are there. It makes you remember to not take these things for granted, and to try and speak up and connect so that you can bring change about.

Oh yes. Not often, I generally don't, but once was when they were in their crates, her and the foster, SCREECHING because they were crated whilst we were trying to move stuff out of the living room onto the curb (it was bulk trash pick up day! XD) I'll confess, I went up to holler, multiple times. Squirt bottles didn't work! Oh man. Neither did the hollering, unfortunately.

The only other time I've done it was a snarf that took place between her and the other foster at like. 4 in the %^&*ing am. O.M.G. It was my first ever experience 'witnessing' a snarf, and when I heard it I rolled out of bed and HOLLERED in my deepest voice, I was so terrified.

That did the job.

Those are the only two times that I can really think of!
