Okay so now thanks to Sarah fostering one and Savy's posting one that she sent her friends to adopt I'm looking at these.

There's one male special registered to be at the May show I'm going to but being that it's the only one it might get pulled.

I also looked and so far this year and all of last year there were NO BGs in Canada in Rally or OB so I'm worried they are not for me and I'm just falling for a pretty face.

Anyone know about them? How they are for training, how they get along with others, energy level, etc.

Flicka - I would love a big above ground pool that I could swim in with her!! But I don't think I'm up to the work and my dad is STILL talking about weeping tile. And they need to trench the power line for the garage and we need to build a new fence. The yard is a huge massive un-level mess! If I could find a hard-sided paddling pool that was deep enough for her to swim I'd be in heaven.

Jasper- What??? None of them?? I love watching Jem swim so much that I've already mentally put that on my "must" list for getting an adult from my breeder. I will take the dog to the pool and water test it before I agree to take it!

Sanka - Good luck! Don't stress so much about clean, I approved a family that I could barely get in the door of their house! I admit I told the rescue not to send them any dogs that needed training but that they'd be an awesome place for any dog that just needed love and a place to stay. way to go I'm sure your place isn't that bad, I let it slide because they both work and have three kids.

Jem is in a fine mood this morning, she keeps poking me! I have nothing else to give her!! She's played her puzzle game three times, her kong once, she has toys and chews all over the office and she's just poke poke poke. shrug I wish Jewel would play with her but she's not Jewel's responsibility. *sigh*.

I'm looking at these two pools right now.

http://www.canadiantire.ca /en/pdp/snapset-pool-8-ft-x-18-in-0813517p.html#.U0xXVVVdVug

I think the top one has more potential for me to enjoy it as well but more work. I think the second one is deep enough for Jem to swim but I'd probably never put my suit on and get in with her.

ETA- Hmm, reading reviews and I'm not getting the first one as they say level ground is really important when setting it up and my yard is not.

Snow is still here!! Got about 4", it got here just in time as my yard was almost snow free. laugh out loud

We were up at 6:30am Sunday! What to do what to do?? I wanted to go shopping in PA but stores didn't open until noon so HAIRCUT BACK ON! Towards the end I had to call my mom to help, Jem was over it and being naughty. Mom came over and held treats to lure her where I needed her and then treated her for holding that position and we got it done! I see a few places I'd like to touch up but over all I'm happy with it and I think this will be "her" cut. It's just a much shorter version of what her breeder did with less blending.

I'm toying with the idea of a smallish above ground pool for us, we don't have snakes here! I just need something small enough for one person to manage but big enough for Jem to swim in (not a kid's paddling pool). Open to advise from people that have had pools!

Ty- Cash is looking good! Already bigger than Jem!

What kind of resolution? Pretty much all my pictures are taken with my iPhone because it's handy.

Flicka - it snowed like 10cm last night and still snowing. Haircut cancelled.

Turner- I loved those paw print paintings you did! I'm going to have the girls each do one this summer and once my dad finally does my basement I'll hang them there.

I have a bad habbit of having several books on the go at once, and I order DVDs from the library too since I don't have TV. I'm watching Eureka right now.

If I had a real pool I'd probably never see Jem, she's bad enough with her little paddling pool.

I'm hoping to groom her this weekend but my shoulder's popping so I don't know. I did cut her topknot last night and almost cried.

Behavior & Training > ducking her head
Jem - Kandansk- Emerging- Artist

Toy-aholic

Jem ducks her head while training the examination part of OB.

Jem is not a cuddly touchy feely dog. If anyone reachs out like they're going to pick her up she leaves. Even me, she'd rather lay in her crate than on my lap.

I thought that maybe all the banding I had in her hair was part of the problem so I cut it last night (sob sob sob). She will fall asleep on the table while I comb and band her topknot so I know it's a not a pain/extreme fear thing.

I did start saying in a cheerfully voice "head!" touching, click & treat. But then I was worried that I was rewarding for her ducking because she ducks even when I do it.

She will hold her stay and let someone touch her but I'm worried that if the judge sees her ducking they won't even try to touch her and just fail us.
