Thanks everyone...

I changed diesel to 3 meals and it seems to be doing really well.

Diesels poops are great and firm!

He is going to the vet Friday already so I'll talk to them about parasites.

Right now he's having two meals a day.
With me being on afternoons, everyone's schedule is a lil messed up.

Next week I am on days so 3 meals will definitely be happening.

So do u think that being as he's getting only two meals, that his system just can't deal with it all?

Diesel is 8 wks old and has had raw since Tuesday.
Last night he started with loose poops and even had one in his crate this morning.

He's been eating ground chicken, it does have a high bone content.
For my older boys...one meal o the ground chicken alone and they're pooing dust.

How do I get diesel to stop having loose stool?
Can I fast a young dog??

Hey everyone,

Picked up my new pup today... He's an 8 week old lab/border collie.
He's currently 7.8 lbs and quite active.

The lady I got him from sent him with a big bag of puppy chow.
He's a healthy boy, drinks more than my raw boys.

So how much would I feed a day and how would I go about determining how much to feed?
How often a day would I feed??

Thanks! Diesels a cutie!

Dog Health > Anxiety Attacks....

Thank you so much...

Your post and info make so much sense.

Tucker is OCD over his laser. He will stand there and bark at me until i pick up his laser and play. Also in our house, you can't say "dot"...he instantly turns around and barks.
He is obsessed.

As for the seizures...that makes sense too.

Last night, he was laying there panting, shaking and the blacks of his eyes were hugeee!
I checked his temp twice to make sure it wasnt changing.

I'm going to research more into epilepsy....
thank you so much for making me realize that it doesnt have to be legs flailing kinda of seizure.

Dog Health > Anxiety Attacks....

Typical day for Tucker is...

I get up at 4am for work, and tucker is fed by 430...
i eat, and then the 3 boys are whisked back to bed by 5.

Tucker is extremely active. Keeping him quiet is a challenge in iteself.
He has a laser, and we call it "dot"..he loves to play that, chase it.
I limit his time for that activity.
He does nap all morning..from 5am to about 8...
gets up with my friend whos living with us, and then goes potty to nap again.
He's got it good.

When things get very stressful, these episodes happen.

The beginning stages of seizures make sense...the trembling, the panting, he paces and is nervous.

He doesnt have the actual seizure symptoms though...he doesnt lose control of his bladder, his limbs or anything.

But the end of the seizure he fits somewhat....like today, he is sleeping like a log..
Also, after his sessions..he cant follow his dot or has no enthusiasm for it.

Last night, tuck and i went to bed at 9, tuck woke me up panting and shaking at midnight...he didnt fall asleep till 3.
I gave him rescue remedy twice and finally that took the edge off of him.

Tucker was in the vets 7 weeks ago for obstruction surgery, where they did a full hpsyical, blood work....everything.
At that time, they mentioned nothing being abnormal even with what was going on.

He has had these episodes again in the past aside from the fireworks...
July of 2010, when fireworks were going off, he went into the identical state as last night...

to me, it seems anxiety.
Rescue remedy did bring his anxiety down...

Tucekr is also a very very sensitive boy...he can tell when things are out of whack.
Nothing has changed this weekend or even now for this "anxiety" to show iteself...

Hey Everyone..

I have a 23 month old Black Lab...He's had anxiety attacks before.

They all began a year ago with fireworks...thunder isn't an issue.
When he has anixety attacks, he shakes, pants and paces.
He'll still act perky but reserved.

Last night had to be one of the worst.
It all started yesterday afternoon or morning (i work at 6)..my friend who is living with us, messaged to tell me that tuck is acting weird.
When i got home about 1pm, he was just very aggitated.
He was panting..but wasnt shaking..yet.

i decided to give him Rescue Remedy, which takes the edge off, but doesnt completely stop his anxiety.
I tried to go nap and bring him with me...he wouldnt lay still and just continued to pant.
He's been this way about 5 times since i've gotten him at 7 weeks.

It seems....that when the stress in our house reaches a high...he goes into these attacks.
It's hard to always be stress-free....

So does anyone else's dog go through these??
Is there a solution?

Raw Food Diet > The next step towards eating normally again!

Hey Everyone...

As most know, Tucker had obstruction surgery during Christmas.

Last week or so, i tried giving him a Turkey Neck...which didn't go over well.
The next morning he puked up bone pieces many times ....he used to love his turkey necks frown

Well, yesterday...Tucker and I decided to brave the chicken frame.
Because seems to have turned into a fast eater (he never was), i decided to hold one end of the chicken frame while he munches on it.
There were a few times when he was eating too fast, so i said "off"..he stopped and he had a 15-30 second break. Just to slow him down.

We began again...and i watched him chew the whole thing.
He chewed everything into very little pieces...so hoping I dont go home to puke today.
He always chews the tail too fast...so im sure that'll be no problem.

so heres to hoping i see no puke later!!
