	The Grand Opening of Buddy’s Allie: A Family-Operated Bowling Center will be on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., Eastern Time, or 3:30 p.m., Dogster Time. I would like to thank the Downtown Council for allowing me to open this business, which I am naming in honor of my siblings. As you know, Buddy was my very brave brother, who passed-away on October 31st. Prior to my sister, Ruby, coming to live with us, her name was “Allie.” The bowling alleys are a tribute to them. In addition to state-of-the-art bowling lanes, the Center will feature: Angels’ Arcade Beagles’ Billiards Buddy’s Boutique Cowdogs’ Café Downtown Dens for Meetings and Pawties Ruby’s Rentals More details will be unveiled, this week, and this thread will then be edited. Because the Bowling Center is still under construction, we will only have four lanes open for this weekend’s bowling. The menu will be limited to soft drinks, hot dogs, popcorn and chips. There will be plenty of available seating, though, so please come to support your friends who are bowling in the league. I look forward to seeing you here at Downtown Dogster. 	Here are the rules for the 2008 Downtown Dogster Bowling League: Rules - Subs Substitutions are allowed for all regular season games. The sub can be a regular league player, but he cannot be scheduled to play on the day of the game in which he is subbing. Please remember that only two members per family are allowed to play. A sub cannot play on the same team as his sibling. However, a sub may play on the same day as his sibling. Subs must be posted in the bowling thread, prior to the game start. Subs are allowed for the regular season, but not in the play-offs or championship games, The only exceptions are when a sub has "permanently replaced" a layer, in the regular season. We realize that our pawrents schedules will sometimes necessitate our withdrawal from a league. Rules - Scoring League play lasts one hour. A player should post his name, player number, and team name, separated by commas. For example, I will post as: Jimmy, #1, Neon Juicers The Dogster time stamp is the official time. Players will earn ten points for their team by posting in the first half hour, as measured by 00 through 29 minutes on the Dogster clock. Players will earn an additional ten points for their team by posting in the second half hour, as measured by 30 through 59 minutes on the Dogster clock. A team will earn an additional ten points, if all players post in the first half hour of league play. These are considered bonus points. A team will earn an additional ten points, if all players post in the second half hour of league play. These are considered bonus points. Subs are allowed for full or half hours. But the sub info must be posted, prior to the first half hour of play. If a team has all players post in both the first half hour and the second half hour, 25 bonus points in total, rather than 20 in total, will be awarded. Rules - Ties Regular season scoring determines championship tournament play. In the case of ties, in determining who will play in the championship games, the tiebreaker will be determined by the highest number of bonus points earned by the teams, during the regular season.
