We just rescued a little CC boy, George Clooney. He's the sweetest most pleasant dog ever! While he was in a Foster home,it looks like his skin got irritated under the sweater he had on. Any experience with this or how to treat it? it looks almost like human blackheads?!

CC's are very prone to acne and it can be treated with a gentle astringent that is made for human acne. Acne appears more often when your CC gets too warm under his/her sweaters, so if your's wears one be sure to take it off every other day so that their skin can breath. If you live in a warm climate be sure they dont get too warm because that can cause them to sweat as well, leading to acne. Give them a bath twice a week and wipe their back and sides down with the gentle astringent noted above.

We also tend to be allergic to wool and lanolin, so be sure to not use any on us.
Unlike most dogs, we Cresteds have sweat glands all over, not just on our paw pads. This is why we break out in blackheads and pimples.
