 | | | | we recently took on a 2 and a half year old border collie with not much idea of his previous life except he got very little exercise and was left alone for 8 hours at a time.He lived with 3 kids from 4 -14.
Jock is settling in very well and loves his walks and playing in the garden. We have started training him and he is doing well.
Our big issue is that he won't allow anyone to take off his collar or to do anything to him which he doesn't like such as putting on frontline, picking off a tick etc. He snaps at us then acts very scared. He did actually bite my partner the 2nd day we had him when he tried to take off his lead.
Apart from this he is very nice and seems to be trusting us more every day.He is not allowed off the lead yet and is only mixing within our family.
Will he stop this once he has bonded with us? We've had 3 border collies before but none ever bit anyone so we are a bit worried.
He is a very nervous dog and several times he has ran and hid and shook all over so we think he may have been strongly disciplined in his first home. | | | | |
