 | | | | Help Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control raise awareness of and funds for amazing older shelter animals in need of loving homes at its 2nd Annual Senior Prom! Support older adoptable shelter pets while enjoying a kitschy, campy evening of dining, dancing, drinks, and contests at this $25/ticket "anti-gala!"
-----
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Chicago Party Animals, the West Loop's premier dog-friendly event space at 1133 W. Fulton Market.
For just $25 ($30 at the door), party-goers can enjoy dining, dancing, beverages, and a super-cool souvenir t-shirt. For those inclined to go all out, admission also includes a chance to vie for the coveted Ugliest Dress/Tackiest Tuxedo Award. As an added treat, Chicago go-go troupe The Revelettes will be on hand to provide blast-from-the-past performances and demonstrations. Marcello's Father & Son Pizza and The Brown Sack graciously return as event caterers to serve up an array of pizzas, salad, and vegetarian and vegan options. Yum!
A terrific array of raffle and silent auction items, including top-notch veterinary services from Portage Park Animal Hospital, will be up for grabs at this year's prom, whose theme, "Second Time Around," reflects both the 2012 installment of last year's successful inaugural event and the new chance at happiness that all adoptable shelter pets deserve. You can even recreate your prom photos at the event. For just $10, you'll get two 5x7s and eight wallets against the retro backdrop of your choice. As a special thank-you for supporting shelter seniors, each attendee will go home with a goody bag filled with delights from 2012 Senior Prom sponsors, including a terrific how-to DVD (a $15 value!) on the basics of canine massage from Canine Massage Chicago, delicious treats for your furry friends from U.S. Bones, and super-savings from Green Dog, Inc.
P.S. Please leave personal pets at home for the evening. This way the FCACC adoptable oldies can enjoy all the attention.
