I'm still pretty young too, just a little over 1 1/2 years old. I do still love to chew anything that is laying around the house, and the waste basket is a special feast, if my parent forget to hide it.
I see from you homepage that you love rawhides and chewies too. Rawhides are my absolute favorite !

Hi Bella! Do you have any brothers or sisters in your home? I have a little brother (Mu Shu) and he's going to get his own page here soon....and I have two cat brothers (Toby and Radar) that I like to play with. It's nice to meet another Maremma just like me!

Hi fellow Maremma's! I'm currently fostering a Maremma until he heals from his leg surgery, and boy...a Maremma is not what I expected! I'd appreciate ANY help I can get for this one - he seems a little slow, and at 18months, he still chews absolutely anything he can get his gums around. He walks into things, doesn't answer to his name...he's perfectly healthy (and not deaf like I first thought!) so is it just a breed thing?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Mommy was busy lately.
Yes, I have an older (smaller) sister - her name is Lexi. She's a rascal and even though I'm 3times her size, she will not take any orders from me. Rather, I follow hers most of the time - whew ! We do love to play wild games every day - sometimes mommy has to hold on to furniture so we don't topple it over while playing smile

Hi Maremma Foster Parent !
I applaud you for fostering a Maremma.
Bella is my first Maremma, so I'm not an expert in all their behavior. I do notice that Bella, now over 1 1/2 years old still loves to chew everything she can get a hold off. I think they just love to chew. I give Bella rawhides and chewing bones all the time and she just absolutely loves those. She still destroys other things though.
Bella is the same way as your Maremma. She does not listen at all. I think that is a Maremma trademark. They are bred to make their own decisions, not to listen to someone else. The only time she will come and listen is when she thinks she'll get a treat smile Bella is a bit clumsy too at times, but I think it's just that she thinks she can ram through things and push them out of the way, instead of going around them. And a lot of time she does succeed. She has a lot of strength.

Hi Everyone, I'm Perry! Just thought I'd see if there was anyone still looking at this page wanting to chat. I just found out I tore my cruciate ligament at the park the day after Christmas... it kinda sucks. Surgery is impending. Hope to hear from you all soon!

Hi there fellow Maremma pups! My mom doesn't come on here very often but I'm still hanging out here at the farm and loving my job! My job is to keep all the bad wild animals away from our other pets and mom says I do a good job, no foxes or coyotes in our yard! I like being in charge of my farm and I like to roam whenever I want to. I hope there are other Maremmas out there having fun!

Hi,

Any Maremma parents still out there? I am recovering from cruciate surgery as well it has been quite allot of work for my Mom. I am at 8 1/2 weeks post surgery and been granted freedom early. Lucky for mom. It is tough to keep a big girl like me kenneled and only leash walked when I am used to full freedom. Lucky for me she did a great job and I have healed very well. However, my fur on my but is very slow at returning...
Love to hear from anymore Maremmas or any others recovering from cruciate surgery.
