Does anybody have any good recipes for Christmas dinner for dogs? I would like to make them something really special and delicious. Last year they all got new collars. This year I want to get them something they will really enjoy. Food! big grin

I just read your post and Christmas is very near! I hope I'm not posting too late! For Christmas dinner, I boil a chicken breast, about 1/2 C rice and 1/2 C frozen carrots (I really don't have precise measurements) and mix it all up for my dogs. For dessert, I give a tablespoon of plain canned pumpkin sprinkled with cinnamon. I have a 18 pound, 14 year old Cairn Terrier and a 1 1/2 year old, 55 pound Pit Bull mix and I just kind of split the meal between the two of them with the bigger dog getting more and they both love their Christmas dinner! I've had people tell me they just give their dogs some sardines or canned salmon for Christmas too.

I give the raw wingtips and liver to the dogs and the meat from the giblets cooked.

Or cook the liver, forget about the wingtips and make a little shepherd's pie with that mushed up meat/liver/broth and top with some plain mashed potatoes. Super fancy, brown the top under the broiler, maybe?

I steal a little pumpkin, cinnamon and egg mix from our pumpkin pie and bake it for the dog's dessert. Plain sweet potatoes are super yummy too.

Maxwell, I may change my Christmas dinner from the chicken, rice and carrots to your sheperd's pie! I'm sure my dogs would love it! Thanks for the idea!
