Yesterday mommy made us our first home cooked dinner (Im hershey's brother) of liver omlet with blackberries and cheese! Today, when mommy opened the door to the camper after work...she knew immediately something was wrong. She knows that smell!! Then she walked in.....there was diarehia everywhere! Most of it was in the bathroom!! I even managed to get some in the toilet! She wasn't completely sure which one of us it was, so we both we to the doctor! Guess what....I have a major case of c-diff! I also don't want to eat anything (I love to eat). The doctor gave me some medicine, and I should be better soon. But, for right now, Im back on my moon food kibble. What's the easiest home cooked meal stuffs on the tummy? (Im allergic to chicken, turkey, rice, oats, wheat, green pea, soy, brewers yeast, and lamb)

Harley, if you've got c.diff overgrowth, I think it might just be coincidence that you got sick after your homecooked meal. BUT, though I am no homecooked expert by ANY means, my guess would also be that a liver omelet with blackberries and cheese might be a little rich if you're used to a kibble diet. Maybe while you're resting your bellies and taking your meds your mom can research some milder recipes to start you out on. Maybe start with a protein (meat) that you're used to, like what's in the kibble you've been eating? shrug

Hope you feel better soon!

Take some potatos and cut them up.

Then toss them into oil and garlic powder.

Bake till golden brown.

Remove and sprinkle a little paprika and let cool then pig out. We have tested them and gave them four paws up.

Given everything you're allergic to, I would say lean beef and potatoes. Tuna is supposed to be easy to digest, but you can't feed it too often.

I agree that liver and cheese for a first meal was probably too rich. Although I think you've mentioned feeding "people food" before so maybe it is only the c-diff.

C dif is usually caused after normal intestinal flora is wiped out from a course of antibiotics - were you on antibiotics?

Be very careful about c diff. The spores can live for a very long time on almost anything, even if it is exposed to the air. I am fairly certain it can be transfered from animals to humans. It is transported via feces to mouth contact and even though you (obviously) would not put the feces in your mouth, the spores may be living on your toilet, sink, wall, etc and after touching it, the spore is then on your hand. Many cleansers don't kill c diff, you need a cleanser that says it kills c diff spores. Also, antibacterial gels do not kill c diff on your hands, you need to use warm water and antibacterial soap, washing your hands very, very good.

My guess would be the liver. Liver can cause loose stool even with dogs that are used to it. If you try feeding it again, start with a very small amount and you can work up from there. Do dairy products work for you? If so, your mommy could try potatoes and cottage cheese or yogurt as a bland diet for the next few days.

Ive been eating Solid Gold's Barking at the Moon! Mommy started with the beef liver omlet b/c we have eaten it before, tolerated it well and love it. Oh, yeah, we eat "people food" of somesort at least once a week....a lot of times it's just "last bite" of what mommy or daddy is eating....if it is safe. So, she didn't think it would mess up my tummy. No, I haven't been on antibiotics. But, I have had an allergic reaction to heartgard chewables, and developed 3 hotspots. Daddy says I may be more stressed out then I am showing. We do still live in the FEMA trailer, my grandpa died almost 2 months ago (I used to love going to see grandpa, I was born at his place), our cow, "Sweet Pea", died too, and Mommy and Daddy keep talking about us moving. But, Mommy and Daddy take us for regular 3 mile walks for exercise and we go up to the country to run. My appetite has come back a little bit this morning, but mommy won't let me eat a whole lot!

Oh, and Mommy bleached the camper top to bottom yesterday and plans on doing it again today after work to be safe.
