 | | | | I wanted to share with everyone this recent issue I have discovered with my dog, ava. She is a Jack Russell and she will be 3 years old in February and I noticed that something wasnt right with her left eye. I showed my wife but she thought it was normal. I went to the vet for something else, she was very itchy(seperate post), and I had them check her eye, and they did notice that something was wrong and that I should see a specialist. I saw a specialist and it came down to her having a cataract in her left eye. Long story short, I want to post to everywhere that I was able to check this myself by just using a camera. Take a picture of your dog using a flash, and look at the photo, both eyes should be glowing. In my puppies case, her right eye was the only one glowing because the cataract is blocking the left eye. I wanted to share this because cataracts can be fixed sometimes if it isnt too late. Take a picture of your dog tonight using a flash. I hope this helps people....early detection is good. I will be getting it removed from ava's eye soon, and I hope all is well. Edited by author Wed Jan 9, '13 9:59am PST
