|I am just about to administer a Comfortis dose, I tried Tea Tree oil, yes all the fleas left, - but only the dog!
Then tried Vinegar, significant results and improvement in coat, but very quick re-infestation, then Borax, - but only on carpets, etc, not on my baby, certainly the Borax stopped the fleas which were coming after me, but as she has been sleeping under the house in multiple locations, every treatment is overwhelmed by the incredibly fast build-up in flea population.
Now have strewn diatomaceous earth, (DE) over all her sleeping possibilities, (very cheap and totally safe, even if she ate it all) so the re-infection has slowed to a dull roar and I think she is now the main vector. (as she was originally).
As Girlfriend will not Visit till all fleas are gone I am now trying to use Comfortis to remove the primary spreader (hopefully without any of the dire side effects) and I believe just the one treatment will suffice.
I will post again in a little while, - I know that in that first couple of weeks I was too complacent and despite flea powder not working nor cheap flea collar, only started to really take it seriously when she began scratching herself fiercely often, poor darling, and now has several areas of scab from her sharp claws, which makes me want to re-visit the "Cut their toenails, versus Don't cut their toenails" argument, any comments?
