Biewer Yorkie and Biewer Terrier

Just want all that are new to the Biewer know that the Biewer Terrier is a seperate breed from the Biewer Yorkie aka Biewer a la Pom Pon aka Biewer aka Biewer Yorkshire Terrier.

The Biewer Terrier has it's own Registry which is not accepted by any other club here in the USA and Germany. The Biewer Terrier also adheres to it's own standard that is different that that of the Biewer a la Pom Pon. By the breeders own admission the Biewer Terrier is a mixed breed in which they proved this point by doing the MARS testing.

The Biewer a la Pom Pon was orginated in Germany as where the Biewer Terrier orginated in the USA.

Do your homework as if you are wanting the true Germany Biewer then look for a breeder that breeds the Biewer a la Pom Pon

For all those that are new to the Biewer breed, I would like you to know that the BTCA, Inc., Biewer Terrier Club of America is the only club that has Mrs. Biewer's support and the only club that is working toward the purebred development of the breed as Mr. and Mrs. Biewer envisioned. Go to btcainc.org to read more about the history of the Biewer and what the members of the club are doing for the betterment of the Biewer.

Be careful of those that have changed the name of the dog to Biewer a la Pom Pon to cover those mix breeds that they are breeding. The Biewer Terrier has been proven to be a purebred of it's own and anyone mixing Yorkie or any other breed with it are just breeding designer dogs. See wikipedia for designer dog definition.

There is only one purebred Biewer and that is the Biewer Terrier. BTRA, the registry of choice for the purebred Biewer, is very strict with their registration procedure, making sure you are receiving a purebred dog. No other registry requires as much, to assure you that they are doing their best to produce the healthiest foundation for the Biewer in the World.

Watch out for those clubs and registries that only have a hand full of members that are mixing Yorkies and Biewers.

Since Max has made such a bold statement in his profile for the bbir, I would like to add that the bbir is sending people to Dagmar to register their dogs that have no papers and/or are mixed with Yorkies. They will then accept this registration, because they accept foreign registrations. What's the sense in even making them spend all that extra money? BTRA is the only true purebred registry for the breed that Mr. and Mrs. Biewer began developing 25 years ago. That is why Mrs. Biewer has joined the BTCA, Inc., to see their dream become a reality.

Wow Max, you need to get your facts straightened out. The BBCI breeds Biewer Yorkies? Humm...once again this club called the BBCI and now undercover as BBCA (to sell their designer dogs) is trying to mislead the public as to the TRUE PUREBREED BIEWER TERRIER. So the public does not become misinformed, go to www.biewer-btca.com. The ONLY club that DNA tests both sire and dam to protect the true parentage of the Biewer Terrier offspring.
You BBCI people should be ashamed of yourselves. Shame Shame Shame.

This is rather disturbing discussion. Please be ware any club who shouts loud that they are the only club, the premier club. For anyone interested in knowing the true history of the Biewer and finding reputable breeders interested in the future, health/ well being, and preservation of Werner Biewers' precious little breed, please visit the BBCA at http://www.biewerbci.org/.

You may contact any member of this club and will get to know genuine people who have the interest of the BIEWER at heart first and foremost.
