My 7 month old poodle has regressed with terror ie chewing and wrecking the house after being neutered. What do I do?

He has also regressed with potty training!

You have had plenty of poodle experience by the look of it. I suggest you ask the Vet if his surgery has left him in any pain. See another Vet if needed. One little goof and the poor boy may be in agony, but can't tell you!

I'm not sure how long it's been since his surgery, but he may still be re-adjusting afterwards. Some dogs have so much pent up energy they go on a terror spree after an illness or surgery. That might be the case here.

It's not uncommon for puppies to regress with potty training after surgery like this, though it's more common for girls since the surgery is more invasive and scar tissue can form near the internal part of the urethra. With boys, it's usually more behavioral.

I'd go back to square one with the potty training and behavioral training. Treat him as if he's still a two month old puppy who is starting over. The nice part is that he's NOT, he already knows the basics, but a refresher, re-do, re-start, whatever you want to call it, will help immensely and FAST.

Remember, he's still very much a puppy. Poodles can have puppy brain for much longer than other breeds, depending on the individual of course. And seven months is still very much a puppy for ANY breed of dog.

he is only 7 months old keep trying.

being neutered will help with marking later.

I say crate train when you can not watch him would be a great benefit.

He would benefit greatly by getting a red kong and stuff it with food so he is keeping his mouth on acceptable things.

Also puppy proof as though you have tiny children toddling around.
